G W B

I found a site not long ago with a list of bushisms, these are stupid quotes of GWB i don't really feel like bitching about him right now, so maybe next time. For now heres a couple of my favourite bushisms.

You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.'' —Townsend, Tenn., Feb. 21, 2001

There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." —Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004

the classroom of the future (the cyber classroom)

Students carry a data card called a cybercard with them to every class, when they arrive, they plug the card into the desk. The desk is a flat, touch screen with a key board, it is known as a cyberdesk. (cyber)Students have information loaded to thier cybercards and notes are taken onto the cyberscreen which cybercoppies onto the cybercard at the end of each cyberlesson. Cybassignments are done at home and cyberloaded on the cybercard, then loaded onto a school database in cyberclass. Physical attendance is reccomended but not cybercompulsory, students can log into class from home and view the information as cybernormal.

Half Life 2

Half Life 2 is the best game i have ever played, almost evething is awesome and there is almost nothing stupid or annoying in it. To me the thing that makes it great is the plot, some games look great and are really good for thier time but the storyline lets it down. But that is not the case with half life. Basically the storyline (not including the first game) is; there is this guy called gordon freeman and he is put into his own future to kill these aliens called the combine who enforce an oppressive government upon the humans. You deal with them by starting a rebellion. Thats what it seems like so far but i havn't finnished the game yet. There are many great plot twists and action scenes and the game never gets boring.

If the storyline sounds stupid then just trust me it isn't, it's just cause you're not playing it. Like the storyline of fight club; a very good film about a guy's imaginary friend who starts a club of guys who wear nothing but pants and beat echother up then cut off some scrotums then blow up some buildings, it's a really good movie but sounds stupid when explained, just like half life.

Anyway, back to Half life, one notable aspect is the shift from scary levels and not scary levels, there is a level near the start of the game called; we don't go to ravenholme, oh man, is it scary. But then there are bits like anticitizen 1 where you just fight soldiers.

The only thing i was dissapointed with was the small armoury available to the player, mainly because there were so many in half life 1 but i guess it makes sense considering the storyline, ie a poor society would have limmited weapons and an army would have a standardised armoury.

Blank pictures at school.

Some of the pictures I've posted and the one I set as my profile picture, don't appear when i try to see them at school. I think this might be because photobucket is blocked and my pictures are hosted by photobucket.

The speed of light.

In sci-fi movies and TV shows, spaceships travel between planets and across space in a matter of seconds, because they can travel at many times the speed of light. So natuarally all we have to do to travell across the universe is to go faster than the speed of light. But this not possible, when something accelerates it increases in mass making acceleration more difficult. When something gets close to the speed of light the mass is so great there is not possible to make it go any faster. After i heard this i thought 'so why can light travel at the speed of light' i was told it was because light has no mass, which sounded like a reasonable reason. But when i thought about it some more i remembered that light is sucked up by black holes, so how can gravity have an effect on something with no mass? can anyone help?
